Ingredients to keep you and your skin glowing this season

It’s no secret that this weather is taking a toll on our body and our skin. So this week I wanted to talk about some ingredients to look out for to keep your skin and body glowing this season.

Not only are the ingredients I’m going to share with you good for your skin, but also great for skin conditions.

So let’s get into it…

Coconut oil

Coconut contains nutrients and vitamins that will help your skin retain moisture in the skin, keeping it looking and feeling hydrated. It’s a natural ingredient that helps to nourish and protect your skin whilst also helping to sooth skin irritations that might be heightened this seasons.

Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil a humectant. So will help attract moisture to your skin, keeping it nourished and hydrated on a deeper level. Not only that it’s a great natural anti-ageing ingredient. Jojoba oil has anti inflammatory properties so one thing I find happens in this weather is my skin get dry and RED! So Jojoba is amazing for keeping that redness at bay. Not only that, it has lots of healing properties and antimicrobial properties.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is contains fatty acids that help keep the skin hydrated as well as being slow absorbing, meaning you will be hydrated for longer. Shea butter is a great versatile ingredient that can be used all over the body, skin and even hair. It’s also rich in vitamins, A, B, C, D, E and F, all of which help to keep skin healthy and are intensively moisturising.

Squalane

Squalane is an emollient, which helps prevent water loss from the skin. It will help protect your skin barrier from environmental factors. My favourite is Olive squalane which is a main ingredient in my new rejuvenating face and body oil. It’s an ingredient that helps protect the skins barrier which is essential for the colder seasons.

Vitamin E

it works as a both a humectant (to absorb water into the skin) and an emollient (to trap water in the skin.) Vitamin E is also another versatile ingredient that can be used in the hair, body and skin. It’s also another main ingredient in the new rejuvenating face and body oil. Vitamin E also helps fight inflammation which can occur in the colder months, making your skin red, irritated and dry.

What ingredients are you using this season? Are you using any of the above? Or will you be after reading this weeks blog?
